Why JLPGC?

Joining the Junior League of Prince George’s County (JLPGC) as a New Member begins by becoming familiar with the Junior League. Next, its by learning more about our work and discovering more opportunities to get involved. Are you a woman seeking to become a driving force of change within the Prince George’s County?

When new members apply, they are invited to orientation and training classes that provide them with the tools and information they’ll need to play a crucial role in the Junior League of Prince George’s County current community goals.

Junior League of Prince George’s County Eligibility Requirements

The Junior League of Prince George’s County is a dynamic group of women committed to empowering women’s leadership and meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration and training. If you’re passionate about making a meaningful community impact in Prince George’s County while growing as a leader, we strongly encourage you to join the Junior League of Prince George’s County for a rewarding experience. A woman desiring membership with JLPGC should:

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Attend the mandatory Open House
  • Demonstrate an interest in voluntarism, a commitment to making an impact in Prince George’s County, and a desire to develop leadership skills.
  • Complete the New Member application and pay a $50 non-refundable application fee.
  • Submit a letter of recommendation from an active or sustaining member of The Junior League (in Microsoft Word or PDF format).
  • Attach your resume (applications will not be considered without both a resume and a letter of recommendation).
  • Have a strong interest in women’s leadership and community service in Prince George’s County.
  • Understand the obligations of League membership and be able to meet the New Member requirements.
