Amanda Virginia Sealey Scholarship

The Junior League of Prince George’s County established the Amanda Virginia Sealey Scholarship in 2023. This book scholarship honors the late Amanda Virginia Sealey, a proud charter member of the Junior League of Prince George’s County.

About Amanda Virginia Sealey

Amanda Virginia Sealey was born on October 9, 1980. She was a daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, goddaughter, godmother, friend, educator, mentor, counselor, and so much more. Amanda consistently celebrated her family and friends with love, encouragement, fought for her students, and served the community with honor and distinction. She had a drive for activism in the community through Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Junior League, and in general. Amanda was a proud graduate of Delaware State University where she obtained a B.S. Degree in Community Health. She then obtained her Master’s Degree from Trinity Washington University in Mental Health Counseling.

Amanda was a beautiful spirit and a child of God. She loved and was loved by so many. Her year-long courageous fight with non-Hodgkin’s T-Cell Lymphoma Cancer was not alone. Amanda passed away quietly on April 19, 2022 surrounded by family and friends. She was 41 years old and was and will always be loved by her family and friends.
